Welcome to Hump Day y'all! From here, thank Zeus, it's all downhill to the weekend. Oh, and it's also Ash Wednesday, which means that I completely missed yesterday's Fat Tuesday and the official start of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. What a convoluted sentence that was! Anyway, it's 46 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday so we've got lots of time to craft the bonnets and baskets, buy the chocolate bunnies & dye the eggs. It really means that the Cadbury Bunny has his work cut out for himself... er, herself??? Whatever!!
Have a great Wednesday anyway and if you feel the urge to wear (or throw) beads, it's perfectly alright. :o)
Those Cadbury creme eggs are so good. Every year when they come out in the stores I have to get a few.
Mariposa, sounds like your computer's name could be 'Hal'. Hope things go up from here.
Sun is out for now. Don't know what 5 minutes from now will look like.
Carl, that picture in the cave at Agate beach gives me the shivers...I really dislike the thought of going in one. Were you the one inside snapping that pic ???
Carol - That cave wasn't as dark as it looks. And, there were no bats or creepy things. I'm somewhat claustrophobic but I'm fine as long as I can see some light. If it's totally black I feel like I'm being crushed.
I'm not too much of a chocolate fan but Cadbury is the exception to the rule for me. They definitely know how to make Easter Eggs !!!
Carl, I feel claustrophobic just thinking about being in a cave, light close by does not ease the feeling. I feel like it will crush me. No logic there, just my goofy phobia. Same thing with getting too close to the edge of anything high, cannot do it in a car, or in person. Arrrghhhhh!!!
Carol - I know those feelings well and they aren't "goofy phobias"! I can't handle really tight spaces either regardless of lighting and I can identify with the "crushing" feeling. Dark & unfamiliar surroundings also cause me problems. In hotels & motels I always need a light on somewhere so it's not pitch-black in the room. It's not a fear of "something" I can't see but more a feeling of being crushed by the total blackness.
I can usually deal with heights but I can't handle where someone else is on the edge & looking down. That gives me the real heebie jeebies! I think that's due to a lack of confidence in the other person not screwing up and being helpless to do anything about it. Welcome to the confessions of a real "head case"!
I can see you two won't be taking any hikes with me, It's not that I'm fearless or any thing like that(maybe just dumb) but i don't mind checking out a cave or two,and one of my favorite places to hike is Conkle's Hollow
Mariposa - Conkle's Hollow looks like a wonderful place. I'll tell you what though; If those caves aren't tall enough to stand up in, I'll hold your trailing rope while you go exploring. That way the rescue squad will be able to locate you if needed. Those limestone columns look very climbable and could be fun but I don't think my body would be able to handle any "serious" climbing. I can almost hear my cardioquacks: "You want to WHAT?????"
