Here we go again.... right back where we started once more! Here in the swamp we've got another round of snow, hail, and cold weather waiting for our workweek start. WTF IS WITH THAT???
Mariposa - Pretty daffy! I don't have any of the multi colored ones like that. Mine are all just yellow mutts I'm afraid... but, they're all blooming like mad.
Have a great Monday & wouldn't it be fun if we could just overlook all the stupidity in the world? I'm going to practice just giving the "stupids" a "knowing" smile to see if it will send them "over the edge". It's somewhat diabolical but it just might be fun too!!!!
My mother used to call the white with yellow centers a Narcissus and the yellow ones Daffodils. I later got very confused when I found out that daffys are all part of the same family and are Narcissus too! It really screwed me up even more to find out they were all part of the larger Amaryllis family. At this point I don't know what's what but it seeems that whole family is about as screwed up as mine. The only thing I know for sure is that they are poisonous and are very effective at deer control. Oh, and they are very pretty. Popular deer control sprays use a combination of rotten eggs and daffodil as a systemic spray. Oh, and don't try to cook with either the bulb or the stem as a seasoning. Because of the poison thingy they do not substitute for onions. Wow, the crap you can learn here!!!
G'Morning! I've got SNOW... in the air and on the ground... but not much in either place thank goodness.
Carl, interesting about the daffodil and it's extended family...I knew that they were related to Narcissus and Jonquils, but didn't know about the Amaryllis. Nothing like inbreds, huh. Sounds like one flower said to another "hold my beer and watch this". The only difference is the flowers' offspring are very pretty. Nuf said.
Did you hear the St.Patty's Day joke? "Two Irishmen left a Bar"

Ah Carl, I love your evil little idea. There are way too many 'stupids' out there. Joe calls them 'sheeple'. Arghhh.
Went for a short walk yesterday afternoon and got a dose of snow pellets!! Been a looonnnng time since I saw a snow PELLET. Funny things.
It's snowing this morning, but it won't last thankfully. So weird this late in the season.
Mariposa, saw the daffies...cute.
I have some Narcissis that are white with orange centers, they smell heavenly!! They are not blooming yet, but soon!
Thanks for the Daffy compliments. I like my Daffys but you see the yellow ones every where, I just had to have the od ones.
Looking to reach near 80 here today. We could tie or set a record if we're lucky.
Carol I'll have to remember the "sheeple" That one is to good not to use around here.

Ummmmm.... Is "Here, hold my beer and watch this." a new pickup line that I don't have in my repertoire of known effective lines?
Uh, were the Irishmen carried or thrown out?
Carl I'm pretty sure when the Irishmen did leave they were poured out....
