Black Iris

Today's cover shot is my favorite of all my flowering plants..... the Black Iris. It's not really black but I didn't name it so I just enjoy it. Thankfully it is not one of the plants the deer enjoy munching on. But, they never touch any of the Iris blooms so there must be something repelling about them.

It almost slipped past me but THIT!!! Have a great Thursday & begin the windup for the weekend. We're supposed to get back into a wet pattern here in the swamp with showers expected today, Saturday, and Monday. I've got all my grass cut so it can just rain if it wants. It wouldn't be Portland's Rose Festival if the Puddle City didn't have rain! :o)

Have a great day no matter where it takes you!

Starting out sunny and cool with rain moving in for part of the weekend. I not complaining we need the rain.

My puppy is having surgery today to remove a lump that suddenly appeared and to remove some bad teeth. Poor baby.

Have a great day

Mariposa, please let us know how the pup is doing. Sort of scary when lumps appear. My kitty had one on her back and it was cancerous. Vet removed it and she was fine - no return of any cancer...that was about 6 years before she just had to be put down due to old age (20 years, six months to the day)...she was blind and deaf at that point with failing kidneys. No more quality her her life. I still miss her and her brother.

Mariposa - Let's hope for a speedy recovery! Is that the "flower bed digging" doggy of a few months ago?

I had a "biiiiigggg" scare when I turned the computer on this morning. It was going through its normal start-up but out of the corner of my eye I saw on the screen "monitor going to sleep" and then the screen went black. Needless to say I went into a total panic because I've got almost two months of blog preparation materials (pics & tunes) on this computer. I could just see all of that stuff flushing down the drain! I called my super-geek techie buddy and a quick visit determined that the monitor cable had just fallen out. My bad for not screwing in the two little screws! I might have set our friendship back a bit because I asked him if he wasn't the last one to work on it. I think I'm going to have to take a couple more little pink pills to get the blood pressure back down. Ohhhhhhhmmmmmmmm! Ohhhhhhhmmmmmm!

Almost noon and we're just shy of seventy degrees with mostly sun. I wonder what happened to the rain they were so certain was coming. Oh well, lunch time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carl it is out 12 year old Sheltie, Sparkle. Poor thing has so much going wrong, but she is still plugging away and always happy to see us.

If that digger doesn't stop digging I'm going to break something walking through the back yard. (ankle, foot,leg,neck...)

Carl, we got your rain this morning...actually it just quit. Makes me mad because work was to begin on our front porch today. They are going to re-stain the pressed concrete and seal it. They power washed it yesterday...wonder if they will have to do that again. Sigh.

Mariposa, what is digging in your back yard?

Carol my daughters dog:(

carol said...

Oh, sounds like you have dog problems all the way around! My sympathies!! Not ever having had a dog for a pet I have no clue what could be done to discourage digging. Cayenne pepper?

Shotgun:)

LOL

What gauge? You don't want to have to pull the trigger twice! It takes away the "oops" defense when that happens!

mariposa said...

The bigger the better. I figure 12 gauge should do the trick. No double barrel for me. I just want to point shot and get out of Dodge...

Ooooh, violence and on a Thursday!! Hell of a weekend must be in the offing (LOL)

Just wait until I get to work tomorrow.

I can probably give you pointers on "gettin' outta Dodge.
