Happy, Happy Tuesday! Here we go again.... clean page, fresh crayons, & no limits on where we go with this masterpiece!

Today's cover page is the result of several hours of frustrating work that finally paid off with what you now see. I was looking for a way to show a Photo Bucket slideshow on the cover page and the Blogger program was determined I wouldn't do it. It seems it doesn't like to directly communicate with Photo Bucket. Long story short - I found a way and it's not exactly what I had in mind but what the heck, it works and next time I won't have to waste a day & a half figuring out how to do it! If I wasn't so thick headed I probably could have figured it out in half that time!
Computers: Ya gotta love 'em because they don't even make a good boat-anchor if you fill 'em full of concrete. :o)

Okay! The slideshow might not be on a par with another Moon Landing but it works & that just puts a big Cheshire Cat grin on my face. It takes so little to make me happy!!!

BTW - Nice pix Carol! My Glads & Dahlias are no where close to being ready for blooming like that. I'm going to be several weeks behind you which is weird considering we're only 30 miles apart(give or take a few). The only difference I can see is the altitude and the slight weather variations that creates...

Anyway - Very pretty!!

I've discovered a glitch in the slideshow's success. It doesn't work in anything but Internet Explorer. If everybody is using IE it's not a problem but in testing it with other browsers I found the problem. Oops! Back to the drafting table.

Carl, thanks again for posting the pictures :)

Off to jury duty in about an hour and a half. Back when I get released! Hope it will be early...maybe all the Federal workers will want to split early for the Holiday.

Carol - You can only hope. If you get stuck in the jury pool you won't have a life.

Well, finally after many nore hours than it should have taken, today's cover page is where I originally wanted it to be. I had to recharge my brain to get it there but....

So, Mariposa, what's up in Ohio! Despite the trunk full of sunshine I brought back from Las Vegas, it rained about a half inch overnight here in the swamp. The sun's out now though & it is simply beeeeyouuu-tiffle! I should probably go out wiht the new camera & try to find more raindrops on flowers. I really like finding those. But, after fighting this coverpage thingy, I really feel like just kicking back for a bit. Maybe a nap is in order this afternoon..... if I make it that far!

Carl Hot hot and more hot.No surprises here.

I checked the forecast and the weather guessers say the rain is past us and it's headed toward 80 degrees tomorrow. Ya gotta love Oregon weather. But, it'll get better once Summer begins day after tomorrow.

Mariposa - I really didn't anticipate having to reinvent the wheel when I started working on it. I've got it working on the three major browsers now without any glitches so far..... Now we can post as many pix on the cover page as we want without making it excessively long. It might be a royal pain to have to scroll down through a dozen pix to get to the comment button. This was more of an exercise of learning HOW!

Yahooooooo!!!!

Mariposa - So far, my DNT+ has blocked more than 22 thousand sites. It's kinda nice seeing the reduction in internet ads. I'm just wondering what other information (besides advertising preferences) they have been gathering. It's an eye opener (for me) to realize that there are people tapped into the internet who probably know more about me than I really want them to know. More than 22 thousand sites (so far) with nothing better to do than track every thing I do on the internet and they make money doing it.

Carl I'm wondering if it is truly 22,000 sites or is it in some cases the same site that keeps trying over and over again?

I'm sure there are a lot of repeats in that.... for example Google, MSN, etc. But, I've looked at the names of the sites & they look like they keep changing and I haven't seen the big names on there in a long time. Google and MSN are the biggest offenders. But, I don't care if it's repeats or new ones as long as the result is a positive one.

Mr. Ed said...

Mariposa - I went in and looked at their list & there's probably 150 to 200 companies that do the tracking. The "hit" count probably counts every time they make a new attempt which just shows you that they don't take "no" for an answer.

Hooray, Hooray they released all of us at 11:00 - No one even got called. Guessing the holiday tomorrow made the difference but who knows. I have been there 3 other times, but there has always been at least one group called. Anyway I'm doing my happy dance!!!

Carol - Was this Federal or Clackamas County????

Mariposa - Quite a few times over the last couple of days I've clicked on the little icon on the tool bar and DNT has said "no tracking going on here". I unblocked Blogger.com because its being blocked might have been causing part of the cover page problems. If it proves that it doesn't work for the long-haul, we can always turn it off & go back to blocking cookies... which I know causes problems! It's kind of a balancing act...
