THIT! Have a great Thursday & when you run into stupidity, just smile knowingly and continue on your way. They can't help being stupid & ya can't fix it! But, you're several steps up on them because they just don't get it!
mariposa - I don't understand why the link is not working for you. I have tested it every way from Sunday and it works every time for me.... even when I sign off from all my accounts(Photo bucket - Google - & Blogspot). It's a 6 pic slideshow I set up on a new photo bucket account. With all the pics I'm publishing, I'm running out of storage room on Picasa and I didn't want to have to start paying for storage if I didn't have to. I set the slideshow up as a public item so anybody should be able to access it. Would you try a cut 'n paste of the direct link to see if it works for you? The direct link is:
Mariposa - a GEEKY friend of mine checked into it and said that thirty five people had complained to Photo Bucket saying they could not access pics. The problem apparently was Photo Bucket's and it only hit randomly. I hope the problem is all taken care of because I intend to use Photo Bucket a lot from now on. Picasa (Google) intends to charge me about five bucks a month for online storage space to publish the Shed pics. I've published nearly a thousand pics for The Shed over its history. I'm just enough of a cheapskate that I don't want to go there.
Carl when I had some time after lunch I went back and it opened just fine then. Maybe it was early morning operator error on my part... The pictures were really good, I'm jealous ;)))
Carl, as soon as Joe shows me how to cut and paste, I'll let you know the results. He has shown me how to do this before, but I do it so seldom, I never remember. I am not a computer person(ya think ::)
Porch is done and it's just beautiful!! Nothing further is needed until next year when a coat of sealer will prevent fading. Joe can do that himself if he wants to .. otherwise we'll have the guy back to do it.
Yes, this is the 2nd day of over 75. The porch is a stamped concrete and originally was a fairly dark grey. It had faded where the sun hit it and had we known earlier we would have re-sealed it each year but when it was first done in 2009 nothing was said about re-sealing. Yesterday they (a different company) came and re-sealed it, and I found out this process brings back the original color to the parts that are not too badly faded but does not prevent the stain from getting through...it just lets them know what shade to use. Then today they put on the stain and re-sealed it. They told me it would be dry in a few hours as I was concerned about rain in the forecast for tonight...he said that won't affect it after it is dry. Doin' my happy dance now, I love the way it looks! Just like new :)
Mariposa - I think that your earlier problem was Photo Bucket. The link I put on the next day(and the cut 'n paste) was EXACTLY what I put up the day before. I haven't tried Photo Bucket on a cover page shot yet but that's next. Thanks for being the Guinea Pig! :o) It doesn't always work for ME to test it because I am operating from "logged in" accounts and that doesn't tell you what the results will be for "non logged-in" access. I can log out & test but that isn't always 100% accurate.
Carol - No need to worry about doing the cut 'n paste. That's the direct method of access but if the strip already came up for you from the link, no need to go any further.
I think your porch is safe from any showers tonight. I we get anything out of this weather pattern it looks like it won't get here until sometime late tomorrow morning.
Mariposa - Afterthought: Are you using Internet Explorer as your browser? If so, which version: IE7, IE8 or IE9?
Mariposa - If you will click on "help" in your menu bar, a drop down screen will pop in. Then just click on "About Internet Explorer" and it will tell you which version you are using. They are having problems with 7 (outdated) and 9 (not fully compatible with some programs). Just trying to figure out why the slideshow wouldn't open for you. :o)

If that doesn't work I'm at a total loss until someone else (Carol?) tries it and lets me know what the result is.
Carl the cut and paste worked. Very pretty.
Next step... another test.
rose test
That worked

Carol does that mean you've had a few days of good weather strung together?

We had another day in the 90s, but it will start to cool off tomorrow. We could use some rain we've been dry here for a while.

Mariposa - No need to be jealous! The rose and the rain did all the work. I just happened to be an eye-witness at the right moment in time.
Afterthought: Are you using Internet Explorer as your browser? If so, which version: IE7, IE8 or IE9? UHHH Probably

Carl looks like IE9 is what I have. Computer genius I am not.
