Monday.... Monday! On top of that, it's raining here in the swamp! Rainy days & Mondays! Oh well! Have a great day... despite the fact that it's MONDAY!
Are we getting tired of flower pictures yet? I'm having a blast playing with my new camera for close-up shots and flowers don't run away when you get too close. :o)
If it EVER quits raining, I might actually HAVE some flowers that look good enough to have their pictures taken. I do have some beautiful pale lavender Iris...they smell just exactly like Grape Kool-Aid!! Talk about a memory evoker! They bloom early and have variegated leaves: pale green and cream...very different.
I thought I was going to get a picture of a partial lunar eclipse this morning. They were talking about it on the news last night and said you would need to look quick because it would take place just before the moon set. 6:10 was to be the best time to see it and since that is about the time I get to work I figured it would work out perfectly. I am driving down the road with this big beautiful moon staring at me and just about the time I figure it's going to work out the damn thing slides behind a distant cloud bank not too be seen again this morning. Drats!!!!
Carol - Your lavender Iris sounds unique. I'd love to see a pic if you get one. What I really like about Iris(besides their being very pretty) is that they seem to bloom at a time that is in between the early bloomers like the Tulips & Daffys and the ones that follow much later like the Glads & Cannas. They fall right in with the Lilacs. On the down side, they always seem to get rained on and it beats their blossoms to death.
Mariposa - I didn't know there was supposed to be a lunar eclipse. It must have been visible only in the east. Not that knowing would have made any difference because here in the swamp we're socked in with clouds & rain. I knew that Venus was supposed to do its crossing in front of the sun today but I think there's no possibility of being able to see that either. It's just a "clousy" Monday weatherwise. Oh well, I'll see it on the 11:00 o'clock news. :o)
Carl, I took 2 pictures of the Iris but it is past it's bloom, however the leaves show up quite well..I'll have Joe do his magic to put it on my computer and then I'll e-mail it to you as I have no idea how to post it here.

Carl we would have only seen a small portion of it, but those pesky clouds got in the way...
