Looks like the format changed again.

Rain here and just as we thought we where going to get the porch work started...sigh.

Carl, your picture of the red poppy reminds me that I am going to try to get those started in my back yard. I read about them recently and now I know why I never could get them to grow. Our heavy clay soil just prevents them from germinating. I will amend the soil and early next spring will scatter the seeds, lots of seeds :)

We got some much needed rain last night, now we are in for a stretch of hot and humid.

Bad news for the son this weekend. He got fired from his job. That's what happens when you wreck the company van and three other vehicles:(((

Have a geat day

We've got a blustery, chilly day here in the swamp... a definite change from the weekend. I could feel the change coming on yesterday while I was burning the shack but I'm still not ready for it. We got about a quarter inch of rain overnight. Please come back Mr. Sun!!! Ummmm.... BTW... The shack burning went well & I didn't burn anything I didn't intend to. Now, I've got a track-hoe coming in to scoop up all the debris & dumpster it & that will be THAT! I didn't buy the place for the shacks & it already looks better without them. All that leaves to be done is for the the flock of baby trees I planted this winter, to quickly get big!

Yikes! The company van AND three other vehicles????? OOPS! I hope he takes this result as a lesson and learns something from it. The increase in cost of his insurance should be a real wake-up call.

That and the fact that Dad took his truck away, sooooooo guess who gets to walk....

It sounds like "tough love" but maybe it'll keep him from making a real big mistake that ends up really hurting someone besides himself.

The boy failed to mention he got a speeding ticket a couple of months ago, That pretty well put it all over the top.

Mariposa, How old is your son?
Sounds like you have the situation under control. Difficult raising kids, huh?

It's hard to get them (especially boys) to learn that motorized vehicles can be DEADLY weapons if not handled properly. I shudder because I remember how I was as a teen... Hell on wheels with my pants on fire! Good luck with him.
