Mistaken identity? Pretty anyway!

I believe today's cover page pic is a case of mistaken identity. It was labeled as a Cleome Violet Queen and came from the FFA plant sale but I think its a Patio Dahlia. Somehow, the tag got switched. Oh well! Such is life!

It was another beautiful day in the 80s here in the swamp today. I could get very spoiled if this continues.

Well the temps have cooled and life is more bearable, for now at least.

Have a great day

Carl, that is a pretty flower, love the color!!
I am leery of buying any plant early in the season as tags have been switched on a lot of them. One year we had some odd tomato plants...supposed to have been SunGold cherries, but were slicers. Joe had a lot more BLT's that year! He was a happy camper.
It is a bit disappointing though when you have some color and height idea in mind and the plants are totally wrong.

Overcast here now...think it's just the typical 'marine push' and will go away soon. It's supposed to be 83 today.

The air here in the swamp is so heavy you can cut it with a knife. I try to open the house up to let it breathe in the cool early mornings but this morning that came with a lot of moisture in the air. Oh well! In a couple of hours it will balance out and start to warm up. :o)

Carol - I don't really care about the switched tag. Stuff like that happens and I buy from the FFA to support the local kids ag efforts. But, I was looking forward to having a Cleome because I've never had a Spider Plant. Maybe next year!

The mystery is solved. Thanks to my MG friend I now know that today's cover page pic is a Gazinia... not a Patio Dahlia. It's just a daisy like flower that comes in several variations and I seem to have a few of those.
