Here we are at Sunday.... ALREADY!!!! And, here I am still in Las Vegas where right now, at Ten O'clock at night, it's still over 90 degrees outside. I think it got up to over 105 today but I quit caring at 95. It's just desert southwest HOT! It's gonna be more of the same tomorrow. Thank Zeus I'll be able to get out of here & go home. Auntie Em is doing fabulously. She has so many friends, male & female, & they all seem to get along so well. And, I can tell they guinely care about each other. It's kinda cute actually.
So what's on everyone's agenda for today? I'm going to be getting some stuff set up for Auntie Em and then I've got a 4:30 flight back home. I can't get out of here quickly enough. I simply HATE the temps down here in the summer. It is just like stepping into an oven when you wander out of the air-conditioned comfort.
BTW - Welcome to the lovely month of July! We're almost to summer in the swamp....
Ummmm... I wonder what the heck I was thinkin' when I wrote "guinely"???? What in the world is that? I think I meant genuinely! Ya suppose?? I hate it when I park my brain somewhere and then forget where I left it!!!
Carl, I admire you for attempting LV in summer. It would make me ill going from cold air-conditioning into an oven. Too much shock to the old system. I'll stay here in the cool, moist green of Oregon. Even though I bitch about the rain, it's way better than heat like that, or heat with high humidity...neither of which we really get here.
Well, alrighty then! Sunday, Sunday! I figured out where I left my brain yesterday. I left it double-parked as I took a stroll down Memory Lane with my Auntie Em, At times she's enough to make ya wanna play Russian Roulette with a full clip. But, when I climbed out of the shower this morning I noticed that all the moss on my back was dying. That's a good thing, right?
What's everybody got goin' today. I see the weather is just peachy back home in the swamp. I wonder if the cats miss me.... NAH, they probably haven't noticed I'm gone. I've got my cat lady feeting them & cleaning their litter boxes so they should just be sleeping their nine lives away.
It's another day in the triple-digits here so we got started early... groan! A nice breakfast, a couple of stops for supplies and back to the whipping rack! At least I can see an end to the pain... 4:30 this afternoon when I climb aboard that great Alaska Airlines bird and flee for my life. It's a good thing she's my mother's sister..... She's sucking my brains out..... Arrrrrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!
Soon Carl, soon. It's nice here, you'll appreciate it when you get home. I'm sure the cats know you are gone, they may not care much, but I'll bet they know...LOL. That's why I love cats!! They are no where as 'needy' as dogs.
I am e-mailing you pictures I took of the Dahlia and Gladiolus that just opened yesterday. They are right next to our side door. I just love the colors together.
I found out there is a name for the storms we had Friday night, it is called a derecho The one through here traveled 600 miles in 10 hours. No wonder I ran for cover.
Mariposa - I've gotta admit that I've never heard of a derecho but that leaves hope that I've still got a long ways to go. I hope to live long enough that I will finally catch up with everything I have to learn.
