Wednesday! Happy, happy Hump Day and have a GREAT one! I get an injection in my eyeball this morning... no big deal. It always feels like the eye has sand in it afterward but they provide eye drops that help some. The injections I'm getting now cost right at $2000 a shot... I'm sure glad I have insurance that picks up a lot of it. They started with shots that were about $100 each and slid into the high rent district a couple of months back. Sneaky bass-tids.
Nothing but blue skies, sunshine & good news today... well, partly cloudy & weak sunshine anyway. But, the good news part is genuine. The report on my left-eye vision is that the internal swelling in the eye(that was the cause of the vision problem), is completely gone and everything looks normal now. And, my vision is slightly better than before (70/20) but definitely improved. They say it's looking so good they're cutting back on the frequency of the shots to a six week pattern. I've noticed a lot of improvement recently but I just thought it was wishful thinking on my part. It's not perfect but I can live with it!!!! Yahoo!
Mr Ed, so glad to hear about your vision!! Guess those expensive shots really are better. Nice to have some good news for once :)
Busy day, lots of errands - glad it's not so hot today. This has been the driest July since 2003 (for Portland) the big record setter was 1967...I remember that year, no rain for over 3 months and 90 degrees most of that time. Very unusual for us.
I agree about the need forGOOD NEWS! I'm about MAXED out on the negative crap.
Sometimes it less expensive in the long run to just bite it and pay for the BETTER stuff! I kinda feel that way about my booze too!
I talked with Isabel, (one of Auntie Em's friends) a little while ago and she's worried. She thinks there has been a drastic change since I was there last weekend. I called her doctors and they didn't report noticing anything different but they're going to take another look this afternoon. Isabel is a sweet little 86 year old and she is so connected to Auntie Em. Her friendship dates back at least 30 years and she has always wanted me to call her Izzy. Maybe it's time for me to do that. And, I think it's probably a good thing that I have the airline's number on speed dial.
Carol - I wasn't aware that we were in such a dry spell here in the swamp. It probably goes a long way toward explaining why my lawn looks like CRAP! I've poured the water to it since I've been back but it's too soon for any results to show. Maybe I should just paint it green.
Green paint is an option...LOL would cut down on the water bill. Of course your water/sewer bills are a lot lower than ours. Portland has managed (?) to screw us so far down in the ground that it's surprising that we don't all hit water and have our own wells!!!! We do water our lawn (front and back) during the summer. It's just a choice we made but we sure do pay for it. The water bureau is miss-managed as are most of the bureaus in this city, but what can one do?
I do hope Auntie Em has not taken a turn for the worse...hit the speed dial, line up your household workers, pet the kitties and jump on the plane. :)
Carol - I can't imagine ever having to pay sewer charges based on the amount of water I use. Only in a wonderful place like Portland. Of course I have sand filtering treating the septic, there aren't any curbs or gutters for miles and everything just soaks into the ground. I'd go nuts if I had big brother breathing down my neck like that!
I'm flying south in the morning. Things are definitely not good in Las Vegas.

Cloudy and cool here, I'll take it over blazing sun and high humidity.
Good news on the eyes. I think it's about time to get mine checked again. I think I'll wait until my vacation I've scheduled in Sept.
