Today's cover shot: Just another of the many birds that make mi casa their home. This House Finch isn't as common as some of its cousins but they are right at home at a backyard feeder that offers oiled black sunflower seeds. If that treat isn't available, they'll settle for almost any type of birdseed offered.
I've got a flight out this morning but it will get me into Stumptown before noon & home by early afternoon! Yaaaayyyyy! All I've got left to do down here is to get a fresh coat of paint in place & the carpets cleaned & this place will be ready to go on the market. It doesn't really need either of those things done but it will freshen the smell & hopefully help it sell a little faster than it would otherwise. Other than me just wanting to close this stuff out, there's no real rush to get rid of it. The center says the average turnaround is usually about 90 days which isn't bad at all. Right now they have a waiting list so that's a good indicator it will move quickly without too much quibbling about price.
Working this morning then I really have to get the last quilt quilted so I can get them all finished. I really want them out of my hair this weekend. I spent last night ripping out half my stitching because the back puckered on me. I must do a better job of pinning the darn thing.
Mariposa - I bought an electronic shutter for my Nikon. Now I can set up the camera untethered and just trip the shot with the remote. Then, a little creative cropping with the Microsoft Office Picture Manager and it comes out looking like a closeup. I wish I was that quick or that good. But this way, the bird isn't scared away by a human presence. It's nice not having the camera connected with wires.
