I don't know what kind of tree this one is but it has definitely given up on summer. It, and several of its buddies have turned shades of gold and red just this week. It didn't even make it to September.
We made it to the weekend... the last one of summer.... so enjoy!!!!
Spending my morning at work. Then a hot weekend, and of course a cool down on Tuesday. I can't seem to catch a break. I at least have a week off coming up maybe then.
Mr. Ed....from last night, the painting of a younger Auntie Em would be of great value to you! I'll be looking forward to what the gallery in Perth says about them.
I understand about your "Mermaid"...I hope you can sail her in the not too distant future. Sounds like a wonderful ship.
Mariposa, I am keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for your week off. Hope it's cool, sunny with low humidity...is that possible there? LOL
Carol - My problem with Mermaid... if it is a "problem"... is that I don't really want to sell her. She is not depreciating in value and I still have 29 cents in my checking account so there's no real need. ☺ Oops! You wrote "sail her" & I read "sell her". Oh well! Same-oh, same-oh... just opposites. Huh???? Me too, BTW! Minor point but Mermaid's just a "boat". She's not big enough to be a ship! Just big enough to be ocean worthy.
If the painting is actually Auntie Em.... she was a FOX. I don't remember her THAT well from back then. She's always been part of my life but my memories of her seem to have aged along with her. Funny how that seems to work.
Mariposa - You have a "week off" coming up? Who did you have to kill for that... Freddie? And, you're working on LABOR DAY WEEKEND? That's UN-AMERICAN!!!! You get Monday off, right?
Mariposa - Your sewing machine sounds like great therapy.
It has been a bodacious day here in the swamp today. Highs about 90ยบ but the breeze has been fantastic. A little bit more & I call it off for dinner. I've always got something that has to be done.
Mariposa - Do you get new fabric or do you cut up old clothes. She never quilted but my mother used to do that for some of her projects like braided rugs, hot pads & like stuff. I think her biggest braided rug was almost full size for a living room. Damn! That was a looooonnnng time ago! Those rugs sure made cold wooden floors warmer on the feet.

Carol Not usually this time of year. Last year we had rain all weekend.

Mr. Ed I said I was at work. I said nothing about working! Yes I have Monday off.
My sister and I went to retrieve my sewing machine from the shop. It was over due for it's cleaning, and I was only without it for a week.

I don't have any projects lined up. I need to go out and rebuild my stash of fabric.
