Today's cover shot: It's hard to get these little hover experts to hold still long enough to get a pic. Usually, by the time I've pressed the button to snap the picture, the hummer has moved three flowers down and has it half drained of the flower's nectar.

Busy day today here in Vegas but I'm headed back home with wheels on the ground in Puddle City before midnight tonight. I'll end up having to make a couple more trips down but the worst of this part will be finished by tonight.

Just watched a hummingbird in our back yard yesterday...they are soooo cute. I'm glad they like our flowers, plus the neighbors have feeders and flowers too. Hummer Heaven.

Carol - I only put out feeders when flowers are scarce. I don't want them getting so fat they can't fly efficiently so I make them do their job spreading goodwill from flower to flower. It's a tough job but I figure someone has to watch their weight for them.

Oops! The Salvation Army truck just pulled up outside. Wow! They get extra points for showing up right on time.

Mr. Ed....we don't have the feeders, just the flowers :)

Carol - I think the feeders have a time and place when there is no natural food for them....like early spring when they first arrive back after their migration. After that long flight without food, it helps them get settled in for making more babies. ☺

The movers have been here all afternoon doing their thing. Another hour or so & we'll be back to bare walls. I had originally planned on flying home tonight but I've changed that and I'm leaving tomorrow instead. It just all seemed too tight to work out but with the extra day, I can have this completely wrapped up.

Izzy - Auntie Em's closest friend, came by. I think she is really feeling the loss and is very lonely. She was "sniffing" quite a bit and a little emotional so I gave her a couple of pieces of artwork & it seemed to help a bit. Auntie Em never mentioned Izzy in her last wishes but I think she would approve.

Mr Ed, that was very kind of you to give Izzy the artwork. It will be something she will treasure, and maybe ease the loss a bit.

Still muggy here...I don't like this type of weather much but at least it doesn't last long.

Carol - Maybe it will be raining by the time I come home. ☺ Vegas is just HOT!!

Hmmmm One comment I made seems to have gotten lost in cyberspace. In it I said that I had given Izzy all of the game stuff; cards, table, & other games that the group had spent so much time playing. It just seemed that it should stay with Izzy.

Carol - It was pieces Auntie Em picked up in various places during her worldwide travels. They weren't "priceless" artifacts but Auntie Em loved them because of the memories attached. As her closest friend, Izzy just seems right for those items. I also gave Izzy all the cards & stuff, table, & games they spent so many hours playing together. That really brought out the tears. I'm really good at making little old ladies cry.
