Sunday! Have a great day of rest & make the most of a day off if you've got one. I received a couple of pallets of stuff I shipped from Las Vegas that I'll have to break down today. For a single, elderly lady living in a Condo, Auntie Em sure had a lot of collectible stuff. I have to get some of it appraised but I don't think there's a lot of value involved. I've got the four paintings she insisted I have and there's another two possibly by the same artist contained in this stuff. Now I need to find out who this painter was and why Auntie Em had taken such an interest in his work. I wish she had given me that information when she insisted I had to have the paintings. The four she gave me are all portraits... all ladies in various stages of dress. The other two are landscapes. I'll have to find someone in the Portland area who might be able to get me headed in the right direction 'cuz I'm certainly not qualified to tell good from bad.
Carol - The four portraits are signed W.Boissevain (as near as I can tell) on the lower right corner. The signature on the two landscapes are different but could be the same name. They will need to be cleaned to tell for sure. The landscapes look like they were coated with something to protect them. I googled the name and there was a painter by that name in Australia.. possibly at about the same time my aunt & uncle were cattle ranchers there. It'll be interesting to find out but I wish Auntie Em had given me the story before she died.

Mr.Ed, who was the artist? Are the paintings signed? Maybe the Art Museum here could be of help.
