Today's cover shot: Mirror Pond, AKA Duck Lake, in Bend. Normally it's teaming with ducks and geese but on this particular day, it was deserted except for the fantastic reflection that's always there.

Beautiful cover shot! We've never looked around Bend...just passed through on our way south over the years. We really don't like the high desert much.
We did stop years ago at a restaurant in Madras called Beasley's. Don't know if it's still there but they had the BEST hot turkey sandwich I've ever had. The only thing that came close was the one I had in Basking Ridge,New Jersey when my friend and I went back east in 2004.
Carol - Isn't Beasley's in Medford or maybe Ashland? I don't remember one anywhere else. I've been going to The Black Bear Diner. I think there at least three of them in Madras, Redmond, and Bend. I don't spend much time time over there but I have property in La Pine & I go there once in a while. I usually eat at the La Pine Inn or The Black Bear. I like the La Pine Inn because it is really "down home" and the food is GREAT.
Carol - I should have googled before I wrote. It was Mrs. Beasley's in Redmond and apparently it's closed now.
Mr.Ed, maybe it was Redmond...it's been 13 years. CRS sets in :)
