Today's cover shot is a couple of days late for National Lighthouse day but it was here for it. I was just late getting it put up. Oregon has so many light hoses protecting its coastline and they all have interesting history attached. This one is located on the southern Oregon coast near Port Orford.
Holy merde! It's Saturday! How did that sneak in here? Oh well! Have a good'n!
Mr.Ed, from last night...my friends cat was a stray she found. Probably miss-treated as a kitten. She worked with her and she was the only one the cat would let hold her. They are both dead now...the friend was the one who had malignant melanoma. The cat lived to a ripe old age and was put down just before my friend got sick.
The weather is forecast to be cloudy with a possible thunder shower around 10:00 this morning but it's bright and sunny now (at 8:06) and barely a cloud in sight. Hmmmm, it'll be interesting to see what develops - hope we are not on our bikes if a T-storm turns up...I've been there, done that one and it's very scary!!
Carol - Take a look at this pic. It is a shot of a bobcat/domestic hybrid(not Joey)
This shot is Joey. The similarities in the build, the markings, and the inability to mix with the other cats is the reason I ordered the test.
Re: your friends cat - Cats are really cautious about who they trust. If you don't gain that trust, you're wasting your time with them.
I think we dodged the bullet on the thunder activity last night. There was one that rolled up from Salem across the foothills but it didn't amount to much.
Mr.Ed, the two cats are certainly similar. Joey has a 'softer' look about his face. I'll be eager to hear what the test reveals.
Being a cat lover/owner for 20+ years, I agree, you have to win their trust first. I admire you for taking the time with Joey and all your other cats. Without you, they'd be in a very bad way or dead.
Carol Remember - Joey had two pellet wounds, one in the head and one in his hind leg, when he came to me. I think he bonded to me more than normal because of that. He needed help and I was there to give it to him. He has an intense purr and he always greets me with a low "coughing" noise... it's hard to describe but he doesn't use it with anybody else. With me he is just a very large affectionate cat.
We had a little thunder activity tonight but nothing to get excited about. I went out to some friends house... close friends I've known for thirty years. It's kinda strange but we only get together once a year for some reason. It has become like a late summer ritual. And, a good time was had by all although it's sad to see their ages progress every year. I suppose I'm getting older to them too. It seems like half our time is spent catching up on how we're staying one step ahead of the Grim Reaper and living better through chemistry. Getting old SUCKS... especially when it's happening to such good friends!
