Today's cover pic: Just another of Oregon's 50+ covered bridges. This one is slightly off the beaten path but worth the effort to look it up and pay it a visit. The bridge sign calls it Wild Cat bridge(with a space between the words) while the creek name is Wildcat. (one word no space) This bridge is in Lane County which claims 20 of the state's covered bridges.

Hooooo doggies! We have made it to the sanctuary called Sabado in Español... or Saturday to those of us who plug along in English. I have a friend who named two of his cats Sabado and Domingo.... Saturday and Sunday. He thought it sounded more "worldly"! Gack!!!

Have a GREAT Saturday!

Cloudy and a chance of showers through most of the day. Looks like a good day to stay in and get a bunch of work done on the quilts. After I get off work I can do that.

Mariposa - At least it's not 95º with 95% humidity..... ummmmm.... is it?

I talked with my home folks a few minutes ago & it looks like good weather for the swamp today. They said it already was in the 60s but it was only supposed to get into the low 80s. Sounds perfect! It's already about 90 here in Vegas.

Nothing new with Auntie Em. She's still in her coma but I keep talking to her. They say people in a coma can still hear so it's worth the effort. I can't let her feel like she's alone. I think it's good therapy for me too.

I must have weird friends. I remembered another friend who named his cats after expensive cars... ie. Mercedes, Lamborghini, etc. He also had a dog he named "beemer"! It probably goes without saying that he drove an OLD POS Honda Civic that had about 200 thousand miles on it and smoked like a pile of wet leaves.

Just a short time ago, Auntie Em lost her fight with cancer. Her good friend Izzy and I were both with her at the end. I have extremely mixed feelings. I'm saddened at the loss of this great lady but happy that she didn't suffer a long extended and painful fight only to lose in the end. She has been a major factor through my entire life. I will miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. Auntie Em was so very fortunate to have you there to care for her.

While Waiting For Thee

by Sharon A. Bryington
Don't weep at my grave
For I am not there,
I've a date with a butterfly
To dance on the air.
If I'm missed, find a flower,
I'll be there too,
Sniffing it's fragrance
Right next to you.

Don't be sad
When you remember me,
For I'm singing in the sunshine,
Wild and free,
Flirting with the lighting,
Playing tag with the wind,
Chasing the thunder
Time and again,
Soaring with the eagle,
Swimming in the sea,
Enjoying all of nature
While I'm waiting for thee.
