It looks like we're headed for possible record high temps today here in the swamp. The Portland area will probably hit the mid to upper 90s... just plain HOT! Time to crank up the AC & hibernate.
♫♪♫♫ It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, ♫♫♪ a beautiful day for a neighbor, ♫♫♪ would you be mine...♫♫♪ 88º with beautiful sunshine & not a cloud in the sky... nice gentle breeze off the ocean coming in from the coast... If it was any more perfect..... nah! couldn't happen! Of course it could just be HOT later but for now.... I think I'll go get a small ice cream cone... a half and half swirl... just because I can!
Mr Ed, where ARE you??? It's HOT, HOT, HOT here...95 and barely a breeze!! Thankfully the humidity is only 24%.
I'm in cool comfort. Got my errands and grocery shopping done early.
Had an appt with the eye Dr, my right eye was blurry - started to notice it about a week ago. He said there is a film growing behind the lens. I had cataract surgery in 2010, and had the artificial lenses put in. The left eye is perfect. They have scheduled me for a laser procedure that will remove the film and all will be fine. It only takes about 5 minutes after they put in the drops. Dr. said it was a common occurrence with these lenses.
Carol - I'm up out of that sweat-box that Portland becomes. Portland has too much concrete and blacktop paving. The extra altitude and all the trees usually makes it at least 10º cooler out here. Also, the breeze from the coast just goes over the top of Portland but at a thousand feet, we're high enough to get its full effect. It doesn't always work out that way... depending on which way the wind is blowing from... but it's pretty nice when it does.
Good luck with the eye! Its amazing what they can do with relatively minor surgeries now.
Mr.Ed, I thought when you mentioned ocean breezes, you were not at home. Now I understand...thanks:)
This is supposed to be the hottest day, so I'm sure we'll survive. We sure have has a wonderful summer over all....hopefully we will have one of those beautiful Falls too. It sure is headed that way. I love those crisp days with the sun shining on all the autumn foliage! If we soak that all in, we can put up with the grey, rainy months we have to endure till next (late) spring/ early summer. I still wouldn't be happy living anywhere else.

Still hot and sticky here. They are calling for a cold front to move through tomorrow and cool thing off. I can't wait.
Carol - My breeze has gone away completely and now I've got 96º. It didn't take long for that to change once the breeze stopped.
