Today's cover shot - A bumblebee working over a fall blossom. Macro shots are so much fun.

TGIF!!! Have a great Friday.

If I were to describe the swamp's weather this morning I would say it's like Mother Nature is holding her breath. I guess it's what they call "the calm before the storm". The first part of our "predicted" butt-kicking gully-washer is supposed to roll in early this afternoon and I guess it will be all downhill for the weekend from there. I'll probably just hole up for the weekend but I've got some friends due to arrive with their fifth-wheel on Sunday if the storm doesn't delay their plans. Towing that large trailer could be a handful in the wind.

Carol - I liked your "something wicked this way comes" reference of yesterday. Dr. Doom does seem to be hiding just around the corner.

Mariposa - Does your new warehouse have windows or is it just a big box? Is it your weekend to work?

I'm "rambling" and breakfast is calling me.....

Mr. Ed no windows just 13 doors. What a nightmare that will be at closing time.

Warm and sunny so far today.

Yes, we are in for it in the rain dept. The guru's are predicting close to 4" if not more and on Sunday the wind gusts will hit 40 mph and that will bring down trees because they still have all their leaves so they will be less able to stand against the strain of the wind.
Unusual to have this type of storm in Sept. more like a Nov type.

Mariposa - No electric door closers? Some of those will probably stay closed most of the time & only opened as needed? I would think security would be an issue if they were all just left open.

Now, SERIOUSLY! Breakfast is CALLING me!

Mr. Ed it is not so much the closing of the doors, it is making sure they are all locked and no one else is going to wander through.

Got it! That many doors would be a security nightmare.

Observation: It's amazing how different the world looks when your tummy is satisfied.

Carol - The good part about this "storm" forecast is that it doesn't culminate in SNOW! So NOT READY to go there yet!

carol said...

Yeah, snow at the end of Sept would probably set a record. Don't know if that has ever happened.

Carol - I saw it on the 4th of July in the late 40s or early 50s. It was at a 1500 foot elevation and it only lasted about an hour. BTW... where is this mega-storm? My cats and I are sitting here waiting patiently but we're beginning to tap our impatient little feet..... It's late and I'm good but the cats have better things to do!

OH crap!!! It has started to rain!

BTW - Back about 20 or 25 years ago when I was an active snowmobiler, we always could find some place to ride on October 1st. It was always very thin snow but it was there. The cross country skiers usually hit the trails about then too. I don't know what their target date is now with the current climate conditions.

Carol - Maybe my memory has failed me on the date. I'm wondering if it was actually November 1st. This dratted CRS!!!
