Today's cover shot is one of my Master Gardener's projects. It is a Passion Fruit plant that is in the protected porch area with my 80 year old Jade plant. I never expected it to bloom but surprise! Now I wonder if it will produce fruit. I don't even know what passion fruit tastes like. I wonder if it's one of those that tastes like soap.
Carol - I left you transplant instructions last night for your Iris. They're easy to move this time of year. Good luck with it.
Carol - The Chang's in Oregon City is the same Mongolian Grill chain. I wouldn't want it constantly but the food is okay a couple of times a year. I like variety.
Thanks for the transplant instructions! I have a LOT of bulbs of all kinds to transplant as we are digging them out of the circle in the back lawn and putting grass seed down there. Some bulbs will have to go to neighbors but I'll try to keep most of them. The Iris's are not in the circle but also need to be moved.
Carol - Afterthought on the Iris transplanting: Resist any temptation to cover those stem stubs... not even with mulch to protect them from freezing. If they are covered too deep, it will cause them and the rhizome to rot. As long as they are sticking up about the same two inches, they'll do fine. ☺
Mariposa, Hope they appreciate you, maybe now is a good time to ask for a raise. :0
Mr Ed...thanks again for the planting advice. I'll let you know how it all goes, if it ever quits raining long enough for me to get to it...lol It's supposed to clear up on Friday.
Things were in really good shape this morning. I hear Freddie got a real good workout. It sank in a little that I don't sit in front of the computer and watch videos. When he got back in today he helped a bit.
Mariposa - Two old gambling adages come to mind: Never draw to an inside straight and never bet against someone with insider information. I was being kind and generous with my projection of a week. You don't call him "Freeloader Freddie" for NOTHING & he obviously has earned that name. Someone should paint it on his parking spot.
It did my heart good to hear he was in the hole after Monday. One of the Indiana drivers called in sick Monday so Freddie had to go out on the road. He had to have one of the other guys help him, from what I hear that was a disaster. I can't wait to see what my inventory will be like.

It's nice to know you can't bring in just any trained monkey to do my job:)

Carol - Friday of WHICH week..... ummmmmmmm... month?...... errrr... year????
I couldn't believe my eyes today when I went out for lunch. Quite a few trees that I swear were GREEN last week, have changed color.

Mariposa - Ten bucks says he'll develop amnesia within a week!
Ten bucks! I'll only give him two days.
