♫♫♪Plop plop fizz fizz... oh what a relief it is.....♫♫♪ I'm ringing out the old year with an all-out attack on this cold. My cocktail of the day is Alka Seltzer Cold. I don't know if it'll do anything to actually "cure" my cold but I seem to feel a little better taking it. I've never tried it before so we'll see how it goes!
So! What's the plan for New Year's Eve??? Whatever your plans.... don't drink 'n drive! It's just not a "cool" thing to do. I'm getting together with some friends for drinks & dinner and I actually have a "date" with a young lady I really enjoy being with. Me having a "date" is probably going to upset the equilibrium of the entire universe but I'm working on being less of a hermit. Maybe I should make that a resolution........
I have a half day of torture to suffer through then a day and a half off. No other plans. I seldom can stay awake until midnight anyway.
Happy New Year to you both...I will be staying home. We never have gone out on the this date, too many crazies out there. We don't stay up that late anymore either.
Mr Ed, it would be a good resolution for you. You might enjoy the 'social' world if you are with an enjoyable person. Otherwise.....well, you know.
Carol - I "date" but I have issues with completely trusting. I'm just "damaged". I'm getting better but I'm still a long way from trusting a "committed" relationship or "shudder" marriage. When you get "burned" bad enough, you get very cautious around flames but they are a lot of fun to play with.
Mr Ed...don't blame you a bit for being 'afraid of fire'. In your shoes, I'm sure I would feel the same and the older we get, the smarter we become (hopefully) about the 'dating game'. Just keeping it casual is fun for men but some women want the total package. Beware, beware.

Well..... ummmmmm... maybe some day but not yet! I just haven't found the right "flame" yet!
I guess that's the real reason...when you do find the right one, you know. All the rest is falls into place.
Hope your cold gets better soon. Mine is much better today, but my energy level is not what it should be yet. I didn't ride today.
I'm at about the same place with my cold. This Alka Seltzer seems to work much better at making it easier to live with it. And, it doesn't seem to be having any effect on my BP..... always a GOOD thing!!!!!
Glad the Alka Seltzer works for you, I hate the taste of anything like that. At first when my throat was so SORE...I just took 2 aspirin because we had nothing in the house for colds, it's been too long since either of us had had one. The aspirin seems to dull the throat pain a little so I kept taking 2 every 4 hours and the next afternoon, my throat was fine. I'm sure it would have been anyway, but the aspirin eased the pain. It's terrible when you would rather spit than swallow!
Carol - I can only have one Aspirin per day and the nsaids don't work. ☺
Hey, they Blazers pulled one out of their hats!!! Beat OK in the 4th quarter...good on them!! I love it when I can see their games. When they play at home, the game goes on too late for me. I am a very early morning person.
It's good the Blazers did so well against OKC!!! By beating the number 2 team and just barely losing to the number one team, it's a pretty good gauge of where they are I think. I just wish they would get some consistency on defense and some inside offense!!!!!!!!!! I'm beginning to think they don't know how to "go to the rim". I know I'm going to regret writing this but as long as their great three point shooting holds up I guess they don't need it. I don't think they'll go anywhere in the playoffs though without it!
