AWWW!!

T. G. I. F. Let's hope Freddie is out on the truck again today. Yesterday he really pissed me off. I told the dispatcher I would rather go home tired than pissed.

Mariposa - I sympathize with your "Freddie" problem. It kind of blows your mind that he gets away with it. Have a good Friday despite him. It's not worth getting an ulcer over him.

Freddie is working on getting himself canned. The I D 10 T seems to think he can heat his home on the companies dime and get by with it. Some body told on him and the boss is really pissed. Come to think of it so is every one else.

Mariposa - What's he doing... stealing Propane? There aren't too many companies that will put up with THEFT of any kind.

You didn't hear that from me. I told the boss when he first made the deal with Freddie that he needed to drive through the lot on the Saturdays Freddie worked. I have not personally witnessed any thing, but our mechanic who works every Saturdays has, he is the one letting the boss know.

I just hate to think how much more work that will mean for me.

Lovely day in the swamp.... well, at least it's not snowing or raining cats & dogs! My day's cut out for me. I've got a sick kitty that needs to go to a specialist to find out what's going on with him... the cat that is. He's my 12 year old male... Smokey. He's been losing weight for the past few months.... he's gone from 16 pounds down to about 12. His regular vet screwed up a diagnosis and made things worse so it's off for a second (and better trained) opinion. This is the second time she has "blown" a diagnosis on Smokey so I'm beginning to wonder if I need a new vet. A year ago she diagnosed him with "fatty liver" disorder. That's a problem that is caused when cats lose weight too quickly. But, at that time he wasn't losing weight. This time she diagnosed "parasites" which we treated. When he just seemed to get worse, she said it was thyroid and put him on medication that damn near killed him. I think there's something right under her nose that she's missing. So, today he gets a bunch of blood work and tests by an expert to see what the problem is. Smokey would do the same for me if he could!

Mr. Ed good luck with Smokey

Good news on Smokey. He does have a thyroid problem... a tumor. That may not sound like "good" news but it is because it can be cured. It's a relatively simple process that involves injecting a radioactive isotope into his system. He'll glow in the dark for a couple of weeks but that's good because I won't have to leave a nightlight on for him to be able to see where he's going. Mandy has the same problem and has been on meds for several months and has been gaining weight real well. But, I'm going to get her done at the same time so I know they're both healthy. Apparently this problem is very common in cats. But, who knew! It's not something they ever talk about with you. I guess you're just supposed to know that when their voice gets raspy and they start losing weight, it's probably thyroid.

Glad to hear your kitties can be helped.

Mr Ed...glad to hear Smokey can be helped !! It's so frustrating to have a sick kitty and not get a diagnosis that is correct. So glad you got a second opinion. Change vets!!!

Mariposa, let us know when Freddie's last day is :)
He should be fired if he is stealing propane...if that's what he is stealing. Is he related to the boss or something? How come he gets away with so much? There are a lot of people looking for work.

Carol - I walked around the grounds and discovered I have daffys up about six inches with quite a few of them already budded!!! My day lilies are also up about six inches. When I got back from Arizona earlier this week, none of them were up. My plants seem to do best when I'm completely out of their picture. I just feel so "unneeded" sometimes!

Oh well! My critters like me!

Carol - Seriously! I think the vet I've been using is history. She has just made too many mistakes. When Mandy was diagnosed as having a thyroid problem, the vet gave her a prescription that was 10 TIMES the dosage she was supposed to get. The poor little girl lost most of the hair off her face before we found out what was wrong & got it corrected. Grrrrrrr!
