Note to Phil: Little buddy... I think everyone is a little tired of this "winter" stuff this year so if I were you I'd be a little careful when you go out looking for your shadow. You might find a flock of villagers heading for your burrow with pitchforks and firebrands. Just a heads up for you....
Lest it go unnoticed, today is Imbolc... the exact midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. To many cultures it is considered the beginning of Spring.
I don't think the little rodent will see his shadow around here. It's rainy, and will be cooling off. We had a high in the upper forties yesterday but it was cloudy all day. I need some sun and warmth!!!
I just heard that Little Phil saw his shadow. Drat. He is cute tho.
I always feel Spring is close every Feb, but it's cold this morning (32) and we could feel Old Man Winter slap us once more. Feb is an 'iffy' month.
Super Bowl.. mostly I couldn't care less about it but since Seattle is in it, I will watch. The thing I thought was awful was the release of some of the commercials PRIOR to the game. Many people watch the game just to see those ads. Have no clue about the winner of the game. One team has a terrific offense the other a terrific defense. Who knows how it will turn out. I am also sick of all the blabbering about it that has been going on for a month or more. That happens every year and I still can't believe it. The sports people/media are like children that cannot wait for a present, party, christmas and have to try to 'open' everything early. Why?? Why not wait until the moment and enjoy it WHEN it's happening? Of course then after it's all over, they have to discuss it ad nauseam. (end of rant) :)
Carol - The forecast is for colder temps and wet here in the swamp over the next week or so. It figures though. Daffys always look better with just a little snow!
I thought about not watching at all since Danica isn't the Go Daddy spokesperson this year.... And, without the pre-planned "wardrobe malfunctions", what else is there to watch for.
I haven't followed the Broncos since the Elway era... couldn't stand him!!!! Gave up on Seattle several years ago because 1) I couldn't stand Hasselbeck and 2) they are a team that has proven they can break a fan's heart when he believes too much. Seattle has another strike.... they're owned by Paul Allen... which is probably why they can be a fan killer!!!
I think the last Pro Football game I watched was either the Vikings or the Bengals... a couple of years ago. But, I'll watch the game and I'll undoubtedly root for Seattle... just because they're only a couple hours up the road.
When you don't "like" either team it's hard to choose the team you dislike less. Actually, I don't dislike them.... I'm just not a FAN!!! Maybe I'll be overwhelmed by some outstanding offense and some smothering defense... even though they're not from the same team.
My prediction on the outcome... Seattle by at least 10.
I didn't see the end of the game but I don't think I missed anything. When the Seahawks got the score to 43 - 8 it just looked like they had it wrapped up so I went out to dinner.

WOW, what a blow-out by Seattle, good for them!!!
