I got the feeling that this guy couldn't figure out whether the camera was harmful or maybe lunch....

Monday, Monday!!!! That pretty much sums it up I think. Back home later today & see if the cats will let me in the door. My cat lady says Joey has fallen in love with her and they may elope. (And I thought he was my "little buddy"!!) I can see how she would fall for him... he is such a "hunk"! For their own good though I may have to separate those two for a while. Joey's just not ready to settle down to a 9 to 5 life. I wonder how "dating" with sleep-overs would work....

Hope you had a good trip, waiting for your play by play :0

Carol - Play-by-play????? I can sum it up pretty easily.... I went for a boat ride, went ashore in Juneau & spent the day with family & friends. I went to Ketchikan & spent the day wandering around looking at native Totems & artifacts. I found out I carry the Eagle Spirit in me and it's very strong(a good thing). I went to Skagway & took the train ride to White Pass... ultra interesting. Went back to Glacier Bay & saw several glaciers up-close and personal... lots of calving going on(pictures tomorrow). Went to Victoria, B.C., & just wandered around town for a while... (been there lots) Then, it was back to Seattle. I saw Brown Bears, Black Bears, Eagles, Osprey, Ravens, Otters, Sea Lions & tons of other critters... Oh yeah, Mountain Goats too. I'll share the pics over the next week & try to not bore you too much. Did I mention that I ate so damn much that I gained five pounds???? It's so hard to say NO when they're shoving LOBSTER at you. The young lady I was with was very nice company and we had a great time... despite my initial doubts. Did I leave anything out???? In answer to the burning question "What's a Skagway?" the best answer I got was "About 190 pounds (probably more)!" Can I have a "rimshot" with that?????

Thanks for the trip info, sounds like you might have had fun...:)

Is there another meaning for Skagway (other than the name of the tiny town)?

The ships pictured in Googling Skagway were HUGE. They must hold thousands of people....arrrghhhh.

I've never seen a cruise ship up close and personal. I have been on many container ships and on old rust bucket charter ships but they are not nearly that size. How much draft to they take?

Carol - I don't know what their draft is but I would guess it's over 50 feet. The ship I was on had a 2900 passenger capacity but there are cruise ships that carry twice that many.

Explaining Skagway: It's an Alaskan bar joke. The UGLY & FAT working girls (prostitutes) are referred to as "skaggs" hence the question "how much does a skagg WEIGH! GAWD!!! I never thought I'd have to 'splain that.....

Overall, I had a GREAT time. It's hard to explain but in some aspects it was too long and in others, it was too short. I always feel like that when I get to the end of a cruise but I'm always ready to go home. The longest cruise I ever went on was 21 days and I was SOOOOOO ready to go home at the end of that one.
