Today's cover shot: Another light winged beauty visiting my flower beds. I had been thinking it was too early for them to be here but I guess I'm wrong. I saw another Swallowtail today.....
THIT! No, REALLY! Thank Heavens.... Have a bodacious one!
Carol - Have you gotten your basement back in one piece yet? Remodeling or painting is such a disruptive process. I'm getting ready to redo my kitchen. Not that I use it that much but it was built fourteen years ago and things have changed a lot according to the young ladies who like to go in there and create stuff. I am so hen-pecked...... It's so much easier than arguing.
All that we did in the basement was to give the floor a new coat of white, shiny, enamel paint. It had been 4 years since our grandson painted it.
We also had Joe's office/den/man-cave room carpet shampooed plus the steps leading down there. Some guy showed up when Joe was mowing the lawn and wanted to know if we had a room we wanted shampooed for FREE. Figured he couldn't hurt that room's carpet so we said yes, BUT it turned out that Joe had to listen to a spiel about a Kirby vacuum system. I can't stand sales pitches so I left. Joe thought it was funny but said no to the over-expensive machine. Hey, it was worth his time to get the free shampoo.
Carol - Holy MERDE!!!! They STILL sell KIRBYs door-to-door???? Out here in the boonies all we get door-to-door are seventh day adventists. I just tell them to leave their literature in the trash can at the curb & I'll read it when I get to it. BTW... there are no trash cans and the nearest curb is about ten miles away. I know! I'm BAD... and MEAN! But then, I'm not the one trying to peddle religion door to door.
Yeah, it surprised me that Kirby is still in business and that they would try door to door. That way of selling just doesn't work in most places as most people who are at home don't open their doors to strangers, at least I don't. We got the pitch because Joe was outside. He didn't mind.
We get some crazy Jehovah's Witnesses here too, but not as much as in previous years. Never get the Mormons anymore either. No one appreciates being bugged by those types. Those who are religious have their own faiths and those of us who aren't just don't answer the door.
Come to think of it, the ones I get might be J.W.s..... They're all the same to me. I've just never believed that any religion needed to be "sold" if it was worth its salt.

Mariposa, sooooo glad you don't have to work Sat's anymore. I know you will really, really enjoy having the 2 days off each week.
