My son gave me a pot of beautiful red/orange lilies a year ago (Mothers Day) and I separated them last fall and put them into 3 pots. They came up this year and were soooo pretty. This fall I'll transplant some of them in the front borders. I wish they bloomed longer but I wish that with most all the Spring flowers.
Summer is in full gear now. Nice if we could keep some of the good days like this and take them out again when the skies are gray. Guess that's why we have memories. :)
Carol - We landed at Wichita Pub in Oregon City & I opted for the Fettuccini Alfredo.(with chicken) I also had my red beer but their tomato juice left a lot to be desired... pretty thin and watery. Remind me to take a couple of cans of my own when I go back there again. The waitress only had one level to her voice... the one used to call in the hogs from the south forty. She did manage to get all our orders right though. Overall, a good time was had by all.
I imagine you're enjoying your bike ride right about now... 70º & sunny out & you can't ask for better than that. I hope it was a good one for you...
Mr.Ed, your dinner choice sounds yummy. Had to laugh about the waitress's voice!!
Mariposa, we have a few places here that make good pizza...from scratch. We just gave up eating it. I know once in a while doesn't hurt, but we were doing it too much a few years ago, or I should say hubby was. I usually can only eat one piece. Hubby has now lost 44 lbs (in the last 2 years). He's at 152 now and since he's 6' he looks quite thin, but is in GREAT shape! When he goes in for check-ups, the Dr tells him he is reversing the aging process :) :)
I think I'm becoming something of a social butterfly. I've got another gathering tonight.... this one at mi casa. I don't entertain that much but I've got a pork loin on the Traeger & I've put together a couple of things(munchies, twice baked potatoes, salad and green beans) that should do the job. Okay, I had some help but I did a lot of it all by myself and my kitchen now qualifies as a federal disaster area. I even made cherries soaked in vodka and coconut rum to serve over ice cream... If anybody complains there's a Mac Donalds just 20 miles away.
Tonight's soirée was an overwhelming success in my estimation. I got rave reviews over the fact that I actually cooked dinner. I think the biggest shock to everyone was that nothing was burned. I don't know why everyone was so surprised though. I've never SAID I couldn't cook!!! I just said I DON"T cook and have always left it at that. Actually, I enjoy cooking but I HATE the mess. I ended up having a lot of help cleaning up and I'll always be grateful for that.

Mariposa, how was your beer and pizza? I like the beer part but don't eat pizza anymore.
Mr. Ed, did you enjoy your dinner out? What did you end up eating?
I could smell BBQ all over the neighborhood last evening. Those are the smells of summer!!!!
Going on our ride at 8:00 that way when we get back at 9:30 it won't be too hot yet.

Mariposa - Are you already into your Saturdays off... or is it one last one for old-times-sake!
I have a feeling hell will have to freeze over before I work another Saturday. I don't think I will miss them a bit.
Carol the pizza was great. There is a small family owned Italian restaurant here. The pizza has great flavor. Nothing like the big chain types.

Sounds like fun.
