The little train ride sounds like a fun thing to do...I'm sure it's very scenic.
We drove the Mt Hood Loop yesterday afternoon, so beautiful!! Never get tired of it. We also stopped in Cascade Locks on the way back to buy that infamous horse radish. :)
Carol - With all the miles I put on, that is one drive I haven't done in quite a few years. I may have to do it when the foliage starts to turn. I used to love stopping at the Char Burger in Cascade Locks for their world famous Bread Pudding... yum! (It's always about FOOD)
We started that drive again a year or so ago and that was the first time in about 20 years that we had done it. Lots of changes in the Zig Zag River channel...they have blasted a new channel for it and the whole area looks so different, but still pretty.
I ate at the Char Burger many, many years ago, before it was in its present location/or before it was remodeled. Seems to be very popular, each time we are there, it's busy.
I wish you lived closer...if you ever vacation out here, let us know!
Mr.Ed, we just drive by the Char Burger, haven't been in to eat. We don't eat in restaurants much. Don't trust half of them. After you've seen the kitchens in a lot of them, you sort of lose your appetite. Joe worked in pest control many years ago and told some hair raising stories of kitchens he was in. YUK...Asian places were the worst, they just don't have the same feelings about hygiene that we do.

Today's cover shot: Maybe it's just the 'little boy' in me but I just love old trains.
This old girl is still making trips between Rockaway and Garibaldi.... seven miles(or so) that takes about an hour-and-a-half for the round-trip.
Sunday - Have a pleasant one.

Carol - I think it has been at least 15 years since my last Char Burger stop so by now the food could have gone straight into the canyon.
That looks like a fun ride. Too bad it is sooooo far away for me.
One step foreword today the daughter moved back home. Now if I can get rid of the boyfriend all will be great.
Mariposa, did you Google the Loop ?
