Today's cover shot: This guy is not as common as the Monarch or the Swallowtail but he's a regular here in the swamp. He migrates north from South America every year and gets as far as Alaska.
TGIF!!!!!!!! Yup! The weekend's almost here again! I LIKE it!
Mariposa - We've had overnight showers the last couple of nights here in the swamp but beautiful(but humid) days. It almost feels like we've turned the corner toward fall (but that is still a month away).
Yup one each night. I hate those late nights it ruins my beauty sleep. Come to think of it I don't think I could get enough sleep to make any difference.
Funny how sleep used to refresh your appearance but at my age I wake up with "bed-face", which lasts longer than I want. Sort of scary looking in a mirror in the morning :) It's as good as a jolt of caffeine to get you awake!!
Groannnnnnn......... Hood to Coast Relay weekend here in the Puddle City area. I was asked to have lunch in Sandy today to watch part of it but I declined with a simple "Are you FREAKIN' NUTZ"???
Mariposa - The HTC is a 34 leg relay race that usually has about 15 thousand participants clogging the roads for 199 miles between Mt. Hood and the coast.
According to the talking heads the HTC Relay race had over 18 thousand people competing this year... the biggest turnout its ever had. I'm so glad I live thirty miles outside of that mess!!!!!

Second day of steady rain. We need it. It's been dry for a while and we're down two inches of rain so far. I think we are making up for it
Hubby has two gigs this weekend. No rest for the wicked.

Mariposa - I look at it as my 'beauty sleep' actually benefits the world by making it a 'prettier' place while I'm out of it during a time-out.
I never thought of it that way
