Breakfast, here I come!
The fire crews have done a real good job of holding the 36 Pit fire & not letting it get any bigger. It's slightly over 4100 acres & about 35% contained this afternoon. The emphasis today has been on strengthening the fire lines & keep it contained where it is. Weather overnight could cause them some problems from hot & dry east winds. But, unfortunately, that's in the hands of Mother Nature.
My crews have wrapped up the fireline improvements I've done. It's looking pretty good for a quickie job but it's about the best they can do for now. Over this winter, while burning is allowed, we'll improve it even further.
OK I'm running a bit late but how was breakfast?
Mariposa - Nummy! I took my entire fireline crew to breakfast & made them relax a bit. They've busted their butts for several days & it was time to say 'thanks'!
