Mr. Ed...is that car yours??? Did you just buy it??? The '57 Chevy is my FAVORITE car!! We almost bought one about 15 years ago, after seeing it at a cruise-in. After thinking it over, we realized that the insurance would probably be prohibitive, also we'd be afraid someone would scratch, hit or otherwise mar it if we took it anywhere and parked it. We also would be nervous just driving it. Funny, we don't much think about that with our other cars.
Carol - It was the pride and joy of a close friend who died a year ago. His widow is starting to move on(and needed money) so I bought it to keep it in the family. (so to speak) It needs a little work but nothing major. I'm already thinking it would look better as a white over burgundy two-tone. ☺
Carol - I've been looking for a '57 Ford Fairlane 500 Hardtop... but so far I haven't found one priced where I want it to be to buy it. I had one once.... White over Candy Apple Red... and even though I owned it before I got married, the court(in its infinite wisdom) gave it to my ex-wife. Right now that car would be worth well over a hundred grand. Grumble, grumble, grumble....
The ID 10 T award of the day goes to our newest employee. I know it's not rocket science to clean thins up around the building and toss the trash but....
When you tell the guy to clean up the wooden pallets out side and throw away the broken ones you would think tossing them into the correct dumpster would not be a problem. Nooooo he throws them into the dumpster marked CARDBOARD ONLY. Then has hard time understanding why he has to correct it, after all no one told him any different. Do the think the big red sign saying CARDBOARD ONLY might be his first clue? I just really enjoy babysitting my fellow employees.
Mariposa, you seem to get all the 'real player' on your team. Geez, how old is this guy, 8? Who doesn't know what cardboard is.
Mr Ed, I think you should leave the car as is if it's the original paint job. It's also more valuable because it's a hardtop. Seems something has been done to the exhaust pipes. It's a beauty!
Carol Paint's not an issue since burgundy is not an original color. And, the ship's already sailed on 'original'. It's a 327 fuel injected... not the original 283 carbureted. The exhaust was converted to dual catalytic converters which is why they run out the back the way they do. It's just a very nice 'driver' but I didn't buy it to put it on a shelf & look at it. And, on the plus side, it didn't cost me a hundred grand either. It's got a couple of rough spots but nothing that can't be corrected.
Carol - The real reason I bought the car is because Rob LOVED it! He would be turning over in his grave (repeatedly) if his wife sold it to a stranger. We were very close so I know he'd be fine with me having it.
Mariposa, glad you are the sane one there...if you quit, it would all to 'to the bad place' LOL You are far more tolerant than I would be working under the conditions you do.
Mr. Ed, couldn't tell by the picture that the paint job was not original...but looking again, I see it's not the original 'red'. I'm glad you have it! I'm sure your friend does too. :)

Mariposa - It sounds like you need a drug and an IQ test for newbies. Does he even know what cardboard is???
He does now

Carol you not only have to be crazy to work here, it's a requirement.

Carol - That pic was taken with my IPad and leaves a lot to be desired.
