Carol - What I have found out from Blogger is that the "robot" question probably was triggered by you not having a profile put together and it may or may not happen again. Their suggestion, if you want to avoid it happening again, was to put together a very generic profile that doesn't reveal your identity or location.
Carol - That robot question is part of Google's spam filter. That filter really does a good job of keeping 'spam' postings off this site but I think they just did some updates on it. There's a special spam trap that I check a couple of times daily to make sure a legitimate post doesn't get trapped by mistake. It's usually 100% right on. Remember when we had all of those 'anonymous' junk postings a couple of years back? It cleaned that problem up real well with very little intervention on my part.
I agree with your comment about computers! But, remember, they were invented and developed by NERDS who don't think like ordinary people..... and therein lies the problem!!!!!
Yes, I agree, they really don't think like regular people.
I will just leave my name as it is, don't know how to do a profile anymore and now have info 'out there'. Bad enough that Google has our house 'out there', it's probably helpful to the bad guys who want to case neighborhoods. I wish I could turn back the clock sometimes. I hate losing my privacy.
Carol - If you mouse click on your user name(in blue), it will take you to a page where you can do as much or as little as you want to your profile. On the third line you will see "If you're a Blogger user, we encourage you to enable access to your Profile." If you mouse click on the part that reads "access to your profile", it will take you to the page you need. All you really need on that page is the top box checked to allow access to your profile. What you include in that profile is entirely up to you and if you only click that you are a resident of the U.S., it's enough. It tells the spam filter that you are a return blogger... not a spammer!
Mr. Ed, I did what you suggested but it makes me put in my email to be shared...even tho I clicked not to share. I don't understand that so I will just keep it the way it is.
Carol - Actually, you shouldn't have gotten the word verification box in the first place. I have that feature completely shut off for The Shed. I also have "moderation" shut off. So, I'm in the dark on why you got it in the first place. Blogger gave me the input on the profile need but I think that's a red herring if I've got it completely disabled on the blog. I think they had a problem & aren't admitting it. Anyway, you should NEVER get the word verification box because in the Shed's setup it's completely disabled.
The entertainment value of this blog depends upon the contributions of those who visit. If you have something on your mind... toss it out and see who responds. If you have nothing on your mind, a simple "hi" is always nice.
