We have lived here all our lives and have never seen the Painted Hills. Shame on us. That area looks deserted but I know there are small towns here and there so a little road trip would be interesting sometime next year.
About my snow bird comment yesterday, I think I just like to grumble too. Don't think we could be happy moving away.
Carol - I travel a lot but I always love coming home. My problem is that even though I'm the last of the Mohicans, my roots go back too many generations for me to even consider permanently leaving.
Eastern Oregon(Morrow County-Heppner-Malheur) area has many old ghost town/mining claims/ranches & etc. to keep you happy and is never boring. And, like the Painted Hills, the scenery is usually worth giving a second look.
Something wicked this way comes...again!! Hope the blow doesn't interrupt our power, but we are prepared for it.
I'm staying off the bike...going to Costco among other places.
Sister will be here next Wed for 2 days with us and then she will spend time with her adult children here and then the next stop with 2 of them will be Cancun for a week. I'll be envious of the sun they will be 'bathing' in. :)
