Today's cover shot is part of my current resident warriors in the fight against bugs. These are Barn Swallows.... sleek aerobatic flyers that supposedly eat their weight in airborne bugs daily. That seems like a lot of bugs to me but whatever!!! All I really know is that they are superb flyers and very graceful to watch. I suspect I'll be having some babies sowing up in their nests fairly soon. I hang birdhouses for these guys but most of the time they prefer to build their own nest from scratch out of mud, twigs & grasses with a soft feather lining. Hard working little critters.
