Today's cover shot: Life in the swamp! It can't be any better if you're a duck. I can't tell who's the lucky one(or ones) in this shot. Is it the lucky drake who gets to escort two lovely ladies... or is it the ladies who are being escorted by such a handsome male.

Tuesday! Well, at least we've gotten Monday out of the way for a week. Enjoy!

You know your pictures look so much better when I look at them on a computer compared to my phone, but they always look great.

Thank you. It has to be the cameras because I don't claim to be a photographer. I love my Nikon and I don't think it can take a "bad" picture. For backups I also use a Kodak and a Minolta. The Nikon has lenses that range from extreme close-up Macro to a "way off yonder where you almost can't even see it" telephoto that puts the subject right in your lap. The only bad shots that come out of the three are due to operator stupidity. Ummmmmmmmmmm..... yep, that's where I come in.

It's supposed to be another hot one today here in the swamp but I's suspecting the uncomfortable stuff is gone for now. I think we'll be back in the upper 80s this afternoon & probably upper 70s by the weekend. We're starting to get that cooler on-shore wind pattern that brings temperatures down.

Lunch time! Time to hang on the feedbag. Road trip!

If only I had half the talent you don't think you have.....

Mother Nature provides the subjects. All I do is frame the shot and press the shutter. I don't get to pose the shots or, in most cases, have control over the lighting. All I can really do is make the most of the subjects I'm given. All you get to see is what comes out the best and some of those aren't that good because of framing, focus, lighting or whatever. Some days I take 50 shots and end up saying "Meh" a hundred and fifty times. Since I got the Nikon, I have a lot fewer throwaways due to equipment. Its macro capability opened a whole new world. It all gives an old geezer something to do but it's very time consuming and I wouldn't want to be a slave to it.

I'm not sure how smart I am. My boss asked me to make a quilt for his mother. Fortunately he only wants a lap quilt so I should be able to get it done by Christmas. I must be a gloton for punishment.

Is he going to let you have freedom on design, colors, etc? Sounds like a good thing to do if it makes his mom happy. And, judging from what little I've seen, you should be able to knock her socks off!!!

He has picked the pattern. I sent an old fabric catalog home with him to pick colors. When I find fabrics I will get his ok . When he first asked me about doing it he told me before I said anything he could afford me. I should have told him if he could afford me he was getting paid way too much.
