Today's cover shot: I love looking at Mother Nature's artistry close-up. I'm always amazed at the hidden beauty I find.
Monday???????????? How'd that slip in here? A hot one on tap for today here in the swamp.... possibly mid 90s. I know! That's nothing for the Midwest but us poor little ducks out here on the coast like to keep our tail-feathers wet. I'll probably just lay low with the AC doing all the work. Of course, I'll have to sneak out for lunch and a stop at the hardware store but I should be able to just hop from one cool spot to the next without busting a sweat. Yep, that sounds like a plan! Now I just have to wait for just the right time to make it all work.... before the temperature gets out of control.
Thanks to some skillful driving skills, I was able to get out & get it all done without frying my brains. And, it was only 87ยบ when I got back to my sanctuary. I knew all those years of racing experience would pay off some day. Thankfully, all the cops were looking for bad guys in town rather than out here in the burbs. I keep telling myself that it's just wasteful to have all that horsepower and not be able to use it. So, when the radar detector and GPS speed trap warnings say all clear, it's time to kick the pony in the ribs. I must be doing something right because I've only gotten one ticket in thirty-five years and that was a speed trap! I was slowing from a higher speed zone and hadn't slowed to match the new limit as I passed the sign. The cop was sitting two blocks away with his radar aimed and calibrated for the distance to the sign. The court agreed it was a speed trap but said it was the way the law reads and fined me $180. But, their lack of foresight has cost the merchants of that town quite a bit because I only go there now when I have absolutely no options.
