Today's cover shot: One of the new generation. The parents of this young Barn Swallow were early arrivals and the first to have hatchlings. This little lady is the equivalent of a teenager and has just learned to fly. When they young fledge they are fully equipped for their adult life and immediately begin feeding themselves with their aerial bug-catching abilities. When they spot an in-flight insect, they very seldom if ever miss the target. I've been told they eat more than their weight in insects on a daily basis but I've never been able to verify that.
Hump Day! Yaaaaaaaaay! I've got a date with a muffler shop bright and early today. It's always somethin'!
I think it's the curse of having too many toys. I think they're like kids in the regard that one of 'em always needs something! And, I'm really kind of picky about maintenance.
