Today's cover shot: Lost Lake.... high in the Oregon Cascades... has no outlet stream and yet it never overflows and drains itself every year. The secret... Volcanic lava tubes that provide drainage.
Holy Merde, it's September already! May I be the first to officially welcome its arrival? Okay, I'll settle for being second or even fiftieth if it's really needed for someone else to get the credit for its arrival. Of course, if I took credit for it I'd also have to accept the blame if it goes wrong.... right? I could also say adios to August I guess. Yeah, that'd work out. It's history so what's left to go wrong with it? Ummmmm...... That was only a rhetorical question & I'm willing to just let it go.
