Oops! I forgot to post the explanation on the Wooly Bear so here goes. According to farm-lore, the color on the Wooly Bear Caterpillar is a forecast of the winter ahead. According to the color of this guy, captured in the wilds here in the swamp, the winter ahead will be a mild one.... at least here in the swamp. That prediction is carried in the size of the Orange stripe... in this case fairly long in relation to the shorter black bands. That spells a mild winter while more black would indicate harsher conditions. Don't know how accurate it is but I know I've never seen a group of Wooly Bear Caterpillars gathered to discuss whose stripes were accurate and which ones weren't(and why).
Have a bodacious Thursday and keep your eye open for Wooly Bears... they're on the move! Actually, they are just looking for nice sheltered spot to build a cocoon for their transformation to butterfly.
