If today's cover page pic was any brighter shade of pink we'd have to wear sunglasses and sneak very short peeks to see it. I don't know if that color is even in the spectrum of the rainbow but here it is. And, yes it really exists in my little corner of the swamp!
TGIF!!! Mariposa - Have a fun day off with your quilting show. For the rest of us... have a great Friday & before we know it, Saturday will wipe Friday right off the calendar. :o)
Carl, fabulous picture of the flower and lady bug!!! What fun!! I'd be doing that all day - but would have to have a teacher to help me learn the camera...I'm not good with written instructions, more of a hands on person. Did it take you long to learn? You probably already had experience with intricate cameras.
Carol - I've been playing with amateur photography for all my adult life but never seriously enough to be any good at what I was doing. My latest cameras have all been fairly good but this one is FAR beyond that level. It is good enough even in the Automatic mode that the average person would never need to go beyond that. In automatic, it can do closeups down to one foot and if you just turn the flash off, it will do indoor shots with just normal to very low level lighting without the harshness of the flash.
As far as my learning curve... I have also problems with manuals. I'm a hands-on guy so basically I'll be learning what this camera will do one step at a time. That's the reason for all the closeups. And as you can see from today's cover pic, it is outstanding at color reproduction. :o)
Mariposa - If it doesn't cost you 300 dollars an hour, just look at it as cheap therapy. Have you ever tried to sell any of your work? There is a quilting shop a few miles from here and although I've never been in it, I'm told they do sell some finished products.
Not being an expert in the field... I couldn't even guess. But, it is cheap therapy! I'll have to make a trip into this quilt shop & see what they sell.

My three Peony bushes finally have gotten serious. For one it is the second bloom for this year! It has been a very weird Spring!!
Carl They all look pretty in pink. You must be channeling your feminine side.
This pic is pushing the limit on close-up shots I can get with my new camera(so far). I'm thinking of getting another lens that will bring it in even closer... why? I don't know! Maybe I'm bored! Or maybe it's opening a whole new world to take a closer look at.........

Carl cute bug.
I've made it back from the show, had a great time. Now I need another job to help pay for what I bought.

Carl my work my look good in pictures but it's not worth much in the sales end. I do OK work, but that's not good enough to sell. Maybe some day.

Carl with my new sewing machine and some practice I can improve my skills. It's just having time and patience to pull it off.
