Today's cover shot: Just a fuzzy tailed rodent being cute.
January 6th is the day marking the end of the Christmas season(The Twelfth Day Of Christmas) and is looked at as the day when all decorations are supposed to have come down. I can never last that long and mine came down New Year's day.
At least it isn't 24 out this morning!! Guess the wind will kick in this morning but it was supposed to happen around 6:00 last night. So far, nothing. Yay.
I had 26º overnight out here in the boonies & a BALMY 28º now. My weather station printout is showing Troutdale at 39º... that's quite a difference considering it's only 25 miles.
Carol - If I didn't have a band of pixies doing the work, I'd never have anything but just a basic tree for Christmas... if even that. It's just a way to pump up the Christmas spirit. But, I go along with it every year rather than make a FUSS! I'm such a WUSS!!!! But, I'd rather not have the "ladies" upset with me for being a "scrooge"! They mean well...
Mariposa - Good luck with the ID 10Ts that will NEVER learn how to drive... summer or winter.
Mr.Ed, We put up a tree and all the decorations and lights on the bushes out in front for years, and years. I stopped doing it 2 years ago when we started going to our son's house on the 24th and hubby's niece's on the 25th. We don't care about the 'spirit' of the thing and it's a lot of work.
Carol - I "cringe" when I hear the first Christmas song of the season.... usually right after Halloween.
It's unusual that you're so warm with the East wind. In the winter it usually is just the opposite. No wonder the weather gurus can't get the forecast right.
Damn Polar Vortex..... What? Another NEW weather term to learn??? I was still working on my on-line degree in Arctic Oscillation..... As Gilda would say.... "It's always somethin'!"

The tarp worked. No muss no fuss this morning. Now if I could only keep the I D 10 Ts off the road.
I never put up decorations so I'm good.
That little squirrel is soooo cute.
