I've got to make a short trip back to Las Vegas to take care of some final details for the distribution of Auntie Em's estate. The lawyers and accountants finally have it finalized but I've got to go make it official. It turns out I've also got to make a visit to Phoenix as well. Auntie Em owned a large tract of sand & cactus down there that I now own so I've got to go see what it looks like. I imagine it's nothing but sand and rattlesnakes but who knows. All I know at this point is that it's MILES away from any large city in a little crossroads town that has two motels, a grocery store and a car repair/gas station. My uncle bought it for development but it got lost in the shuffle when he died. Auntie Em mentioned it several times but I didn't know she still had it. Surprise!!!
Anyway, I'll be flying to Vegas on the 18th, on to Phoenix on the 21st, and probably back home on the 26th. That's the plan anyway. As usual, The Shed will be on autopilot but I'll check in as I can. I have no idea if the motels have Wi Fi but I'll do what I can to give you a blow-by-blow accounting. Also on the agenda will be avoiding being scorpion or snake bit.☺
Mariposa, BRRRRR I am sorry for your frozen state. It seems the west coast is the only place where it isn't far below normal for temps.
Mr Ed, we are planing a trip to Az the first part of April. This is not for certain yet but we want to visit my sister and it is a part of the country we haven't been in. We'll know more later but it is a long trip and we don't like to drive more than 250/300 miles in a day so we would be gone for about 2 weeks (round trip). I hope your inheritance turns out to be something you can either sell or use. :)
Carol - There's no way I would drive that far unless I could do a large part of it off the Interstate. And, I'm with you on the limited mileage per day.
All I know so far is that the property is about two hours west of Phoenix... about 120 miles. It seems pretty remote but the little town has several restaurants and about two thousand people. It'll be interesting to see what my uncle saw in it!
In Lake Havasu City. We've never been there or even close. I visited the Grand Canyon as a kid but that was it. I can't say I'm a desert lover but I know it is very pretty in the Spring. We will go before it gets too warm as neither of us can stand the heat.
Carol - Lake Havasu City is about a hundred miles north. The property is very close to Interstate 10... which might be the reason my uncle bought it. Curiosity is going to kill me until I get a look at it but for now I'm assuming it's just a pile of sand.
The entertainment value of this blog depends upon the contributions of those who visit. If you have something on your mind... toss it out and see who responds. If you have nothing on your mind, a simple "hi" is always nice.

Where does your sister live?
