Monday, Monday! Presidents Day. Quite frankly, the only Presidents I care about are the pictures of them I carry in my wallet.

Today is one of those holiday/non holiday days. Of course, us "peons" don't get the day off so have a great Monday anyway!

We had the worst night !! The wind was whipping the plastic cover on a new construction of a home 1 house away from us. It sounded like someone standing in the yard and banging large pans....all night!
At first I thought it was something on our next door neighbors front porch but then we realized it was the echo from the wildly whipping plastic.
We have lived in this house since 1981 and have NEVER heard wind noise like that! I am so tired!!

It was a "dark and stormy"...... ummmmm......... errrr..... day?

Carol - I empathize with your lack of sleep! All it takes is some unusual noise to disrupt a night of peaceful bliss!

We've got a WET and WINDY day going here in the swamp. There have been some pretty intense showers this morning but only slightly over a half inch of rain in the gauge so far. The speculators have got that four-letter-word back in the forecast for the next few days so an early spring is probably out of the question. Maybe I should go out and push those tulips and daffys back into the ground.

I feel for you guys. We are expecting a wintery mix this afternoon. I guess that means if you don't like what is falling from the sky wait a few minutes and it will change to something else.

Mariposa - That sounds exactly like Oregon weather.

Mariposa, you have it much worse than we do weather-wise.....it's just that we don't get these hellish 55 mph winds very often. It was worse at the coast, close to 75/80mph in some points. Feb has been a very wild month so far and we have 11 days to go. Shudder.

What I meant was that if you don't like what Oregon weather's doing, just wait a few & it'll change. Today's wind hasn't been bad out here in the boonies. It kicked up some this morning & I caught one gust at 40 mph. It's been mostly calm since then... not even any rain.
