With the snowfall we had yesterday we have moved into fourth place in the record books. 45.1 inches of snow so far this season, I think most of it is still on the ground. Come on Spring!!!
We've got a fairly nice day going on here in the swamp. It's been raining off and on but the amount is barely recordable in the rain gauge. I'll take that over gully washers or snow anytime!
Light day on the agenda today... just gonna kick back and let it come to me. I need a few of those. Smokey and Mandy have gotten over their hospital trip and except for the limits in place due to the radioactivity, all is well. I'm only allowed to be in direct contact with them (holding or petting) for an hour a day for the next month. How do you explain that to a CAT?????
Mariposa - The "unspoken" bad part is that their litter box material has to be treated like hazardous waste. It has to be collected and saved for three months before I can dispose of it. At the end of that time though it will be safe to just take it out and bury it a couple of feet deep. What I go through for my critters!
Mr. Ed. If we had a rain gauge it would be recording HUGE amounts. We just had a doozy of a downpour go thru!!! Hadn't seen that much come down that hard in quite a while.
That's sort of scary about the radioactivity stuff. Can you pet and hold them for 15 minutes 4 times a day. Maybe then they won't notice your absence. They again, being cats, maybe they don't notice at all. :)
Carol - They're happy with lots of five minute or even shorter length sessions. It doesn't allow them to take naps in a lap but they're good. I keep them distracted with lots of "treat" foods.
The amount of radioactivity is pretty small but the Feds set the rules (and the State enforces them) and you know how that goes. At the end of three months, the litter will be no more radioactive than your watch. At that point it could actually be legally put into the trash or into a compost pile for that matter because it's benign by then.
The entertainment value of this blog depends upon the contributions of those who visit. If you have something on your mind... toss it out and see who responds. If you have nothing on your mind, a simple "hi" is always nice.

Ahhhhh! The sanctuary of Saturday! Have a GREAT one! Here in the swamp it's gonna be wet but that's okay! It beats ice & snow.
Mr. Ed the trees are gorgeous.
