Today's cover shot: I saw a pair of these little hooters near Ketchikan.
I don't know how we did it so fast but here we are at Monday again. It just seems like a vicious circle sometimes... Have a great one.
Just in passing - I saw a report over the weekend that said Portland had made the top ten in a list of cities in the U.S. with the worst traffic congestion. Being the cynic that I am and hating Portland the way I do, it didn't surprise me at all!!!! Portland came in at number nine... behind real winners like New York, L.A., Boston, Philadelphia, and even Seattle. You'd think that for its size, Portland wouldn't rank so high but it's right up there with the WORST!!! I think it has to be the only place in the world that can spend 150 million on a new bridge and not move one shovel of dirt to actually make it happen. If there's a list of U.S. cities with the worst street repairs and most potholes, I'm sure Portland will be top five!!!

Mr.Ed, you are 100% right on the streets in this town and the way money is wasted. We'd be in the top 5 for that too.
Carol - When I saw them, I thought of you and knew I had to get a shot of these guys. They're so small I almost missed the chance.

Carol - It was. The second one was about a hundred feet away. I'm guessing it was a mated pair & there was a nest someplace close.
