From last night, we were planning on coming home on Hwy 30. We have gone both ways (26 or 30) for years and have never seen that much traffic! No more weekends! We have been to Newport via whatever hwy it is that goes from Corvallis (I'm too lazy to look it up), but Newport is not where we wanted to be. We will try again on Tues or Thurs
I substitute at shuffleboard on Wed this next week...so can't go then.
Well, you've seen movies where an evacuation takes place....that's exactly what it looked like!!! Honestly, a SOLID line of cars from Portland and I'm sure they were going all the way to 101. Funny, I know the coast is 300 miles long, but where will all those cars be able to park? Especially if their destination is Cannon Beach or Seaside...there is just not that much space! I guess some people don't mind CROWDS. Gone are the old days where you could go down and get there in about 90 minutes, drive out on the beach and enjoy the sun, sand and a few cold ones.
