Mariposa - You slick talkin' dickens... I couldn't have said it better! The good thing about Thursday is that the coveted weekend is not too far on the other side!

Today's cover shot: The thing about wind power is that you can never have just one generator. The turbines always exist in farms yet for some reason this one was all alone....

if I can survive the next two days I get a week off. I just hope the guy I've been training to fill in can survive.

Mariposa - Ah... The ultimate test! New guy sinks or swims based on how well we've prepared him.....

Are you still gripped in the hands of the winter from styxx??? We're actually in the 40s here in the swamp this morning. I don't see any Daffodils up yet but I guess even thinking that might be pushing it just a tad bit!

I've got an eye exam at noon so I've been cramming for it. I've got the top two eye chart lines memorized so I should ACE this one!

Still freezing the assets off.

Egad! Who knew there was more than ONE eyechart! Just my luck! I studied for the wrong one. Oh well! With the help of some lucky guesses I managed to convince them that my eyesight was better than it was last time they tested for my prescription. The bad news is that I no longer qualify for the dog or the white cane. I guess there's something to be said in favor of getting a shot in the eye every few weeks. I'll be saving a lot on that dog food I no longer have to buy.

Mr.Ed, I heard on the news a few days ago that there is some sort of cover-up about the wind turbines killing eagles. No one can find out much.
I think they are awful things all over the landscape as one travels thru The Dalles and east. There used to be just a few clustered together, now that is all you see on both sides of the highway for miles and miles. It's true there is not a lot of scenery in that area, but geez. I can see why birds wouldn't last long.

Carol - It was an Oregonian story. A Portland woman is pushing the issue. Bird deaths
