Today's cover shot: It doesn't come much better. And, here in the swamp the skies were clear allowing perfect viewing.

I tried to get a picture of the moon, but my camera just wasn't up to the task.

Heading into the end of the fiscal year at work. So much fun to be had in the next few days.

I've got a lens I use for moon shots. You've really got to draw it up close to get the detail without fuzzing. It just doesn't work to take a normal shot and crop it.

Another frosty night here in the swamp. My weather station showed it reached 34º... not really freezing yet but cold enough for frost to form on my roof and lawn. I haven't been up in the heights but I'm betting it was probably into the mid 20s up there. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Should we get out the party hats and horns for your fy celebration?

The other trick for moonshots is to use a tripod with a timed exposure. That only works for very short duration timed shots due to the relative movement of the subject in the frame.

I'll just enjoy your shots.
